Healthy Strawberry and Chocolate Milk

These healthy versions of chocolate milk and strawberry milk are a delicious treat and perfect for kids. I use homemade almond milk for the base but you can use any store-bought plant milk. Homemade nut milk contains more nuts so has more nutrients, is creamy and delicious and surprisingly easy to make.

Homemade almond milk
Ingredients:
1 cup of raw almonds
Optional: vanilla, dates, agave syrup, sea salt

Method
Cover the almonds with water and let them soak for at least four hours or overnight.
Drain and rinse the almonds.
Blend the almonds with 4 cups of water until smooth.
If desired add vanilla essence, dates, maple syrup to sweeten or a pinch of sea salt.
Strain after blending.

Strawberry milk
Ingredients:

  • 100g strawberries
  • 500ml almond milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup

Chocolate milk
Ingredients:

    • 500ml almond milk
    • 1 tbsp cacao powder
    • 1 tbsp maple syrup
    • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Method:
Blend all ingredients until smooth.
