A Vegan Valentine’s Day Picnic

For Valentine’s Day this year we decided to have a family day out because I’m stuck in the house with the kids way too much.  We wanted to have a picnic and take Rian to the playground to run around after.  It was lovely to spend the day together as a family.  We even got a bit of sun, even though it was a little chilly, and other people in the park said we were brave to be having a picnic in February!  On the way home it was snowing so we timed the picnic perfectly.

Rian seems to be getting past his fussy toddler stage and loves berries at the moment.  He says “strawberries” in the cutest voice ever, and asks for them every time we go to a shop for snacks.  He’ll eat a whole box of them at once.  I love that!

Oran loves them too, but he will eat anything I give him.  He’s doing so well at baby led weaning and eats a lot, even more than Rian.  He’s almost 9 months now and is thriving.  He can crawl really fast and even stand up.  He’s also really close to walking on his own!  Rian and him are best friends and love playing together.

Of course Rian wouldn’t sit still for long and wanted to explore and “climb” trees.  He’s so grown up now, I can’t believe it.  It’s nice that the weather is getting better and he can play outdoors more.  I can’t wait until summer.

As much as I hate paying for blackberries when I can pick them for free in a few months, haha, the kids absolutely love them.  I thought this photo of Oran was so funny and cute.  He had a great time tucking into all the food while Rian ran around with his daddy.

It was such a lovely day spent with my three favourite people.
